What is the offence of Manipulating Flight Controls?
It is an offence under CASR 91.155 to manipulate aircraft flight controls during flight without authorisation. Pilots may also be liable for allowing it. “Manipulate” is not defined but generally means to control something skilfully. Each case turns on its facts and may require expert evidence. CASA investigations can lead to prosecution, but alternatives like counselling notices may apply. Always seek legal advice before responding.
Have you been charged with a Drone Safety offence?
Drone rules under CASR Part 101 set strict limits on how and where you can fly. Breaches, such as flying over people, near airports, or above 120 metres, can lead to CASA investigations, fines, or criminal charges.
We help clients facing drone charges in Brisbane by reviewing evidence, negotiating with prosecutors, and representing you in court. In some cases, we can get charges downgraded or withdrawn. Find out more from our criminal defence lawyers.
