What does it mean to share sexual material without consent online?
It is a serious offence in Australia to share sexual or deepfake material of an adult without consent. Under section 474.17A of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth), this includes real, edited, or AI-generated content and carries up to 6 years’ jail, or 7 years if created or altered.
